MATT BURCK
FOR SCHOOL TRUSTEE TOWNSHIP OF LANGLEY
Matt has spent more than a decade working with families and community organizations and wants to bring that experience to creating more opportunities for Langley students.
Now that my own kids are starting school, I have an even greater appreciation for how important these years are. I want every student in Langley to have a great school experience armed with tools and resources to discover what they’re good at and what excites them.

ABOUT MATT
Matt Burck has called Langley home since 2018 and lives in Murrayville with his wife, Elisha, and their two children, Easton and Aspyn. This year marks an exciting milestone for their family as Easton begins his first year at James Hill Elementary and his first season with Langley Minor Hockey.
Professionally, Matt is the Director of Sales and Ticket Operations for the Vancouver Giants, where he has spent the past 12 years building relationships with families, community organizations, and local partners. Through his work with the Giants and the Be A Giant Foundation, Matt has worked alongside the Langley School District Foundation and local Parent Advisory Councils to support fundraising, school programming, and community outreach. That experience has given him an appreciation for what can happen when communities and organizations work together to create more opportunities for young people.
With his own children now entering the school system, Matt has an even more personal reason to get involved. He believes a good public education gives young people more opportunities to build the future they want. He wants to help ensure Langley’s schools have the capacity, resources, and opportunities needed to give every student a great school experience.
Matt is especially passionate about youth sports and recreation and the role they can play in keeping young people active and engaged. He also wants to strengthen local PACs so they can continue to provide valuable programs and opportunities for students.
Matt holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Law from Carleton University and a post-graduate certificate in Sports Event Marketing from George Brown College.
Matt is running for School Trustee because he believes strong schools and strong communities go hand in hand, bringing a practical, community-focused voice to the Langley Board of Education.
