TESS ROUSE

Tess was born in Langley and has spent much of her life in the community, living in nearly every corner of the Township. Today, she lives in Murrayville with her family and is raising two children involved in Langley Minor Hockey and Langley United Soccer.

Tess brings more than 16 years of experience across local, regional and provincial government, from frontline municipal roles to senior leadership, including over a decade with the Township of Langley. She understands how government works, how decisions get made and what it takes to turn good ideas into action.

Tess spent much of her Township career in the Engineering Division, holding leadership roles in sustainability. Her work touched transportation, land use, buildings, water, waste, facilities and environmental protection. She led the development of the Township’s Climate Action Strategy and major initiatives including electric vehicle charging infrastructure and the Township-wide conversion of streetlights to LED technology.

She later brought that experience to the Province of British Columbia, where she leads teams responsible for policy, regulation and programs spanning solid waste, municipal wastewater, plastics and the circular economy. Her work requires building relationships across every level of government, industry and stakeholders to navigate complex issues and move solutions forward.

Outside government, Tess is an entrepreneur and owner of TR Wellness, where her work focuses on leadership, human performance and personal development.

Tess wants to see Langley grow without losing what makes it special. She believes we can make it easier for people to move through and experience the community, protect the natural spaces we love and give people more reasons to get out, connect and enjoy where they live.

Known for building strong relationships, challenging the status quo and getting things done, Tess wants to bring her experience to Council to help build a Langley people don’t just live in, but truly love to call home.
